CJT Services Ltd also undertakes portable appliance testing. We can assist your company or organisation with a comprehensive and cost effective solution to comply with the Electricity at Work Regulations.

All employers and Landlords/Letting agents are responsible by law for preventing any harm coming to their employees, customers and tenants when using equipment provided for their use.

If your working environment or property has any appliances with a mains voltage plug attached, for example:

Portable Tools, Computers, Monitors, Printers, Kettles, Microwaves, Fridges, Vacuum Cleaners, Cash Tills, etc.

You will have a duty to comply with all the necessary regulations. Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) is the best way you can fulfil this obligation. Failure to implement a programme of Portable Appliance Testing can also have insurance implications.

Electricity can kill! Each year about 1000 accidents at work involving electric shock or burns are reported to the Health and Safety Executive. About 30 of these are fatal.

Faulty electrical appliances and leads are the main cause of accidental fires in commercial buildings, representing over a quarter of all such fires.
